Some Background

•December 9, 2009 • 2 Comments

The blog is getting much more lively because of Chaos Rising and now, thanks to THQ and Relic heres the brief summary on who wins and who loses in the entire Dawn of War franchise

Dawn of War 2

and if your too lazy to even click but not lazy enough to scroll down keep reading

“Relic Designer Philippe Boulle looks back at the Blood Raven’s previous clashes with Chaos…

Chaos Rising marks the return of the dreaded Chaos Space Marines to the forefront of the Dawn of War franchise. Although absent from Dawn of War II’s initial campaign, these dark reflections of the Space Marines have a long history with the franchise.

A History of Battle

In the original Dawn of War, the Blood Ravens fought across Planet Tartarus against Orks, Eldar and the ultimately, the forces of the Alpha Legion, one of the Space Marine legions fallen to Chaos. Although these traitors were under the command of the Chaos Lord Bale, the true mastermind of the Tartarus campaign was the Chaos Sorcerer Sindri Myr. This dread heretic corrupted the Blood Ravens Librarian Isador Akios and sacrificed Bale himself in a quest to obtain a foul artifact called the Maleficium. At the climax of that campaign, Sindri Myr achieved dark ascension and was briefly reborn as a Daemon Prince — briefly, because Gabriel Angelos and the Blood Ravens slew the newborn fiend before he could summon his full power.

In Dawn of War: Winter Assault, the Imperial Guard’s 412th Cadian Regiment joined elements of the Ultramarines in an attempt to recover the mighty Titan Dominatus from the Chaos and Ork infested planet Lorn V. Chaos Lord Crull of the World Eaters legion led the heretic forces on Lorn V and he dreamed of using the Dominatus to drown whole sectors in blood for his patron, the Blood God Khorne. Crull was ultimately defeated, betrayed and killed by his Ork “ally” Gorgutz.

In Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, seven armies clashed over Planet Kronus. The Blood Ravens, under command of Davian Thule, ultimately prevailed, but the battle was long and hard. Eliphas the Inheritor led the Chaos forces of the Word Bearer legion on Kronus, and they ravaged large sections of the planet. When the Blood Ravens drove into the Chaos stronghold on the Deimos Peninsula, Eliphas was torn asunder by his own daemonic masters.
Now, rumors have surfaced that Eliphas survived Kronus and is hungry for vengeance.

Finally, in Dawn of War: Soulstorm, the Alpha Legion returned to plague the Blood Ravens as part of the massive conflict over the Kaurava System. The Blood Ravens suffered tremendous losses in the Kaurava campaign, many at the hands of Firaeveus Carron, a Champion of Khorne.

Chaos Rising

The Blood Ravens have fought valiantly against many heretical cults and Chaos warbands. The Alpha Legion and Word Bearers have both suffered at their hands. Yet, chapter records reveal several missed opportunities for the Blood Ravens to oppose the Black Legion, perhaps the most fearsome of the Chaos Space Marine legions.

Why the Blood Ravens would pull back from conflicts with the Black Legion is unknown. The truth is sure to come out soon, however — a Black Legion warband under the command of Araghast the Pillager has its sights set on Aurelia and the Blood Ravens.”

Now while i was reading some forums i stumbled upon many people saying “All Four Powers” which basically means…well…All four powers.

Who are teh four powers? They be Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch, and Slaanesh. So it means that ALL of their minions (well select) will show u.

  • So far we already have Blood Letters and Blood Crushers. thats 2 points for Uncle Khorne
  • We have Plague Marines.  Thats 1 point for Papa Nurlge, now what else?
  • Tzeentch
  • Slaanesh

Both of none and i would like noise and sorcerers, well a sorcerer is in the box cover so :D

No daemonettes plz, as much as i love bitches, hermaphrodites are not my type.  horrors, flamers, noises hell so much to choose.  But i want Bezerkers, why would they appear in concept art?

thats all for now cya later

New Tyranid untis for TableTop

•December 8, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Its true everyone, the new Tyranid Codex is coming out in January and brings a new array of deadly and poisonous units to bear.

So this is how it will go

  • Picture
  • Description
  • my opinion

ok? lets start

Starting us off is a deadly and very VERY violent and brutal looking creature….THE MAWLOC

Mawlocs are huge worm-like creatures with massive razor-toothed maws that act as the entryway to their equally cavernous gullets. Most of a Mawloc’s victims are swallowed whole, there to be painfully digested. Anything to large to swallow is pounded flat by the Mawloc’s muscular tail before being devoured.

First impression when i saw it. DAMN that looks hardcore with the mouth thing, it creeps me out, like any other tyranids when i first saw them

Now the Pryovore

A Pyrovore’s maw drips with corrosive acids that are powerful enough to reduce armour, flesh and bone to a gooey, smouldering mucous. When confronted by a foe the Pyrovore launches forth an incandescent fireball from its dorsal bio-weapon that reduces its victim to a pile of burning ash.

Just by its name can u tell it fires bio/fire balls at its enemies, Biovores vs Pryovores? the fact that they can be deployed together is just tough

I just knew this could come the HIVE GUARD (no not tyrant guard)

The Hive Guard are charged with protecting Tyranid structures and are capable of unleashing salvo after salvo of intense firepower. Essentially gun-beasts, they are heavily armoured and have a body designed to be a stable firing platform for the massive impaler cannon bonded to their forelimbs. Physically linked to the shard-beasts that comprise the ammunition to their cannons, Hive guard can target enemies with unerring accuracy – even those who they cannot see.

We had the Tyrant Guard with lashing whips and a hardass carapace to kill and now we have one that can kill you from afar. again, like the tyrant guard, its blind

AND NOW THE BEST FOR LAST, ANOTHER REASON TO HAVE LICTORS AND ZOANTHROPES FORNICATE (not malanthropes)

TEH VENOMTHROPE

The Venomthrope’s whip-like tentacles drip with a multitude of alien poisons. Indeed, so potent are these toxins that it is believed that a Venomthrope’s very touch means certain death. Under a Venomthrope’s heavy carapace is a network of bulging, gas filled bladders that emit yellowish spore clouds. These clouds are lethal to non-Tyranid organisms and dense enough to obscure nearby Tyranid organisms.

In all my years of warhammer, i knew something was missing.  Me i think Aliens=in some point will use tentacles, well here it is.  Its a warhammer and pervert’s dream come to life :D

thats all for now
